Okay, your turn: What makes for a stellar first-time user experience?
After all, 70% of product implementations fail due to poor adoption. So how do we get it right?
We’ve all been there. We look to solve a problem, find a software app that might do the trick and sign up quickly. What happens next can vary. Well-designed apps usher you along elegantly and efficiently to your intended goal. Poorly designed apps throw too much at you, or not enough, or an ill-timed chatbot constantly asking you if you need help. At its worst, you’re asked to upgrade before your second click.
Next week, I will publish an article about the makings of a kick-ass first time user experience. But first, I want to crowdsource some ideas. How do you think about a winning first-time user experience in that “zero state” scenario?
